Watching The Union and noticing Elton John plays a lot like Jerry Lee Lewis. More vertical, less horizontal. Rhythm taking the lead. — 1 week 23 hours ago

The {neo}sonic Sound Garden

The {neo}sonic Sound Garden
Mill Place Arts Precinct, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia
4 November 2010, opening at 6 pm

{neo}sonic is a new project by Australian sound artist Leah Barclay that is designed to capture the voice of global communities through sound based art and technology. The multi-platform nature of the project involves a digital orchestra, community engagement workshops, and a collaboration with Sonic Babylon to deliver innovative outcomes in both real and virtual worlds. It is supported in part by NeoGeoGraphy, a project bringing together creative practice and new technologies in an effort to help communities define themselves through place, interaction, and time.

The {neo}sonic Sound Garden opening, an interactive exploration of Indigenous stories from the Sunshine Coast, is part of a NeoGeoGraphy showcase event that includes iPad improvisations, Indigenous dance, and multi-media performances. The event may be followed on twitter under @_neosonic and a short video promotion of the event may be found here. Following the opening, Sonic Babylon's Sound Garden will become a permanent installation of the Mill Place Arts Precinct.
